Thanks Morgan, I thought so initially - the lady in question is "Gertrude M. Williams" and I understand that the author of 'Priestess of the Occult' was Gertrude Marvin Williams...however the dates don't quite add up, and IIRC 'Priestess...' was highly critical of HPB, whereas 'my' Gertrude seems quite the loyal devotee...although in 20 years maybe she changed her position.
I will go back to the letters and re-check,
Appreciate your help,
Christopher

Is that the same Gertrude Williams who wrote Priestess of the Occult:
Madame Blavatsky, New York, Alfred A. Knopf, 1946? If so maybe Theosophy.
