GRANULITES AND GRANULITES 2013, HYDERABAD, INDIA
Somewhat later than we had hoped, we can announce that registration for
"Granulites and Granulites 2013" should open later this week at:
http://ggindia2013.com/
This meeting will be held in Hyderabad, India, on 16-20 January 2013, with
pre- and post-conference field trips to some spectacular rocks in the
Eastern Ghats and the Kerala Khondalite Belt and a "Thermocalc Workshop"
at the Indian Institute of Technology ¡© Kharagpur.
Conference themes will address mineral stability, deformation, fluid and
melt in granulites; regional geology and tectonic histories of granulite
terranes; timing and rates of granulite-facies metamorphism; and
geodynamic drivers of high-temperature metamorphism, including a special
session to recognise the contribution made to the field of high-grade
metamorphism and partial melting by Professor Mike Brown.
Conference registration costs will be USD 500 international delegates,
with reduced fees for students and Indian participants. Fees for each
4-day field trip will be USD 550 for all participants, although financial
support from the Fermor Fund of the Geological Society of London will be
used to offer a number of sponsored places on each trip to Indian research
students. We expect fees for the THERMOCALC workshop to be $130 for
international participants, with reduced fees and sponsorship available
for Indians.
