Sidneians will join us in mourning the loss of Noel Kinnamon, who died yesterday.
It was one of the greatest privileges of our academic life to work with Noel and, clearly, he was one of the most distinguished (but modest) textual scholars of his generation. Our long years of working together on editions of Sidney works and papers involved constant contact, largely through email, that discussed the details of his meticulous transcriptions. His most recent work was the transcription of Rowland Whyte's letters, which will be coming out later this year, and a brilliant essay on the manuscripts of the Sidney Psalter for the forthcoming Ashgate Research Companion to the Sidneys (1500-1700).
He was a good and trusted friend. May he rest in peace.
