>> Visions of Sustainability
In March 2012 we worked together with six other partners of the BRAVE collaboration on the 'Planet Under Pressure' conference. The conference aimed to bridge the worlds of science, the arts, politics, business, faith and the global South, the BRAVE collective challenged participants within and beyond the conferenceto develop a shared global vision of sustainability and come up with some 'big ideas' for achieving it. An article about the conference was published in the Summer Issue of 'Planet Earth'.

>> Farmer-to-Farmer Sharing (new PV resource)
Participatory Video has been demonstrated as ideal for working with small-scale farmers to enable farmer-to-farmer sharing of innovations and experiences, and connecting those same farming communities with the outside world and key stakeholders including policymakers, industry representatives and NGOs. This article describes some recent examples from our work with farming communities from: Ethiopia, Malawi, Uganda and Cote d’Ivoire. The article includes links to three videos.

>> Participatory Video for Food Sovereignty (new PV resource)
The process of collaboratively planning and producing videos can bring people together to record and celebrate cultural food practices, strengthen traditional knowledge of the environment, and build strategies for a sustainable and resilient future. This piece describes three recent examples of participatory video projects that aimed to stimulate food sovereignty - from Meghalaya (India), the Gamo Highlands (Ethiopia) and Chiang Mai (Thailand). The article includes links to 4 videos.

>> Indigenous Voices on Climate Change
Climate change is seen by many as being perhaps the greatest and most urgent threat to the culture, environment, livelihoods and spirituality of indigenous communities around the world. Over the past 3 years, as part of the ‘Conversations with the Earth’ (CWE) programme, we supported the development of an unique network of autonomous community media ‘hubs’ in eight different communities; fuelled by the dedication, passion and energy of extraordinary individuals, who have organised and facilitated projects with hundreds of people within their regions and beyond. It is their perspectives on climate change that are quoted in the article published in Südlink, a German NGO magazine on North-South-relations and international solidarity. The second article - that was published on the UN Media Global blog - discusses the scope, aims and impacts of the CWE network since it's launch in 2009.

>> Participatory Video and the Most Significant Change Technique (new PV resource)
This illustrated piece describes how we facilitate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) projects - combining Participatory Video with the Most Significant Change Technique. Participatory Video adds value, encourages iterative learning and explores qualitative data often missed through traditional M&E methods.

>> Girl to Girl Participatory Video for Monitoring and Evaluation
We have spent the last year building capacity among teenage girls and staff involved in Nike Foundation grantee girl programmes in Uganda (BRAC) and Guatemala (Population Council) to enable them to use Participatory Video and most significant change (MSC) to gather stories from their peers and take a leading role in analysing and disseminating their findings. We will be sharing the videos, methods and findings from this ground-breaking M&E work with you very soon! In the meantime here are a short documentary (highly recommended) and a blog about the project:
