The Center for Security Studies (CSS – www.css.ethz.ch) at ETH Zürich, a university-based research institute and Think Tank, is inviting applications for a (Senior) Researcher (80-100%) in the fields of risk and resilience.

As a member of the Risk and Resilience Research Group at the Center for Security Studies (CSS) you will advance expertise in the fields of risk and resilience. An important part of your responsibility will be to conduct applied research and write policy-relevant reports for the Swiss administration and other interested bodies. You will help to further the research focus on resilience and risk at the CSS, and build the international reputation of the Center by publishing your work in academic outlets. Teaching will not be a part of your responsibilities.
Your profile: Advanced university degree, preferably in the social sciences. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a capacity to work collaboratively within and beyond the social sciences. Completed PhD is an asset. Academic / analytical work at a high level. Your good analytical skills are complemented by expertise in the fields of resilience and risk. Knowledge of the Swiss political landscape is an advantage. Excellent written and spoken English skills; German a plus. An independent and well-organised working style, as well as good communication skills and the ability to work in an international team will be essential.
