Hi
I'm writing an inventory of our holdings and I've come to the OS Record Cards. I've used them for years without really thinking much about them but a newer member of staff asked what they were originally used for.....which had me slightly stumped.
There's obviously a clue in the name but are they any more than a record of the sites recorded by the OS field surveyors? If so what are they, how were they updated and when did they start being distributed to local authorities etc etc
in ignorance
