Hello all,
Here at NCAD we have a large collection of DVDs of all sorts of
art-related things and also movies. The collection has grown
exponentially, even in the past two years, and now I have been tasked
with creating a migration plan for whenever DVDs are replaced by other
media, including streaming etc.
I have two questions for the list members:
1- Are any of you involved in a similar project, and if so, would you be
willing to share the solutions you came up with?
2- Are you subscribing to any streaming services [something like the
equivalent of NetFlix, but for the academic sector], and if so, how are
they working out?
We have such a good collection, I am worried that whenever DVD players
aren't manufactured any more, we won't be able to acquire this stuff
from anywhere else, so I want to make sure we have a proper migration
plan in place to cover any eventuality.
You can reply to me off-list at this email address.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Marta
