2.2 OER13: Creating an OER Virtuous Circle, 26-27 March 2013
OER13 will take place at the University of Nottingham, renowned for its
Open Nottingham programme which has strategically embraced the agenda of
open access to teaching. The Conference programme will consist of an
engaging mix of refereed papers, workshops, symposia, posters and
demonstrations exploring the impact of OER on HE within the conference
themes.

2.3 altc2013 Building new cultures of learning
The 20th annual conference of the Association for Learning technology

3.1 New technology projects led by JISC Advance set to transform learning
and teaching in the UK
32 bids that showcase the innovative use of technology are to receive
funding, transforming post-16 learning and teaching in the UK. The
successful projects - managed by JISC Advance and funded by BIS - will
provide learning resources, methods and expanding opportunities for
the whole of the FE and Skills sector. The FE and Skills Development
and Resources programme managed by JISC Advance was launched earlier
this year in response to the Governments pledge to improve learning
across the UK.

3.2 HEFCE report highlights role of further education colleges in widening
participation in England
A report published by HEFCE (Widening participation and
non-continuation indicators for further education colleges: Overview
of trends, HEFCE 2012/20) shows for the first time patterns of widening
participation and non-continuation of full-time higher education (HE)
students in HEFCE-funded further education colleges (FECs), and finds
that FECs are performing particularly strongly in widening access.

4.2 Augmented Reality in Education Event
The AR in Education event will take place at City University London on
Friday 19th October 2012. This is a free to attend event, aimed at
promoting the use of AR in education and exploring the underlying
technology. The event is aimed at those who have an interest or
experience in the use of AR. Confirmed speakers include pioneers and
practitioners in the field.

5.1 Call for Papers: Special BJET Issue on e-Research for Education:
Applied, methodological and critical perspectives
This special issue aims to provide a comprehensive review of the
emerging domain of ICT- enhanced research methods in educational
research. Contributions could broadly fall into one of the following
categories:
1) methodological papers (e.g., learning analytics, collaborative video
analysis, digital ethnography);
2) applied case studies of frontier e-research project;
3) conceptual explorations of eResearch implications.

5.2 Call for Expressions of Interest: Editorial Team for the Australasian
Journal of Educational Technology (AJET)
Ascilite invites Expressions of Interest for a new Editorial team for
the Australasian Journal of Educational Technology (AJET). The Editorial
team will comprise both Editor(s) and Associate Editor(s). The Editor
role may be shared but there should be at least one Editor and at least
one, although preferably more, Associate Editors. Being on the Editorial
team of a journal with such high standing as AJET presents an excellent
opportunity for career development and advancement.

5.3 Moodlemoot Dublin 2013 Call for proposals
We are delighted to open the call for proposals for the Dublin
Moodlemoot 2013 being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Northwood, Dublin,
Ireland on Feb 18-21 2013.
This year instead of setting strict themes or topics we are leaving it
open to the community to submit Moodle related presentations and we will
stream them as is best possible. We are now inviting proposals for
presentations, pecha kuchas and infographic posters!
