Dear Universities Transport Study Group members,
I am currently working on an EPSRC/ESRC funded project called Resilient Futures, which is headed up by Prof Seth Bullock at the Institute for Complex Systems Simulation at the University of Southampton. We hope that the information generated during this study will elicit a greater understanding of infrastructural resilience by examining the ways that future scenarios might impact on the resilience of the UK's critical national infrastructure.
As part of this project, we are carrying out an online survey of transport and energy managers and we would be very grateful if you could help us to distribute this to any management level transport or energy contacts that you have. The survey should take around fifteen minutes and can be accessed via the following link:
http://www.mra-porton.org.uk/webapp/resilientfutures-stakeholder-survey/
For those who are interested in exploring these issues in more detail, we will also be running a series of stakeholder focus groups in which front-line service managers will be asked to use future scenarios to reflect on the resilience of energy and transport infrastructures towards the year 2050. These focus groups will be taking place from 2pm-4.30pm on the following dates:
15th October London
18th October Edinburgh
24th October Manchester
25th October Manchester
29th October Bristol
31st October London
2nd November London
5th November Newcastle
6th November Newcastle
8th November London
If you would like any more information about the survey or focus groups to pass on, please email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and I will send you more details. If you would like to know more about Resilient Futures more generally, please visit our project website at http://r-futures.ecs.soton.ac.uk/
We are very keen to access views from as many transport and energy infrastructure stakeholders as possible and I would therefore be hugely grateful if you could share our survey as widely as possible.
With many thanks for your time
Julia
