Just for the record, Anne and I ran workshops in Tate Galleries using
them as shared studio spaces 2006-2011 as London Drawing so not really a
first.

> Dear all,
> I'm letting you know about a new course at Tate Modern, starting 15
> October
> - using drawing as tool and process to engage with modern and
> contemporary
> art. (details below - and here:
>
> http://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/courses-and-workshops/gallery-st
> udio )
>
> Aiming to (for the first time, so quite exciting) use Tate Galleries
> as a
> shared studio space, the sessions will include collaborative
> activities,
> discussions as well as time to develop own approaches/methods and
> ideas.
>
> In case you (I am sure you will all have valuable ideas to
> contribute!) or
> your students (feel free to distribute widely) are interested.
>
> Course is bookable as single session(s) or the whole course - this
> is a bit
> fiddly, you have to book one session, go back book the next etc. In
> an
> attempt to make the course accessible session price is only £20/£14
> (concession) - access to the galleries outside opening hours alone,
> should
> be worth this.
>
> All best wishes,

> on a
> specific collection display and introduces drawing activities
> designed to
> encourage a close examination of artworks across a range of different
> media,
> including painting, sculpture, installation, video and film.
>
> Using the gallery as a shared space for learning and creative
> enquiry, each
> workshop introduces a number of activities as well as time to develop
> your
> individual approaches to drawing, to create a community of practice
> based on

> Experimenting with different approaches, you have the opportunity to
> explore
> drawing in its broadest sense: as a tool for looking, thinking and
> learning
> about modern and contemporary art, as a method to draw out and
> interpret the
> artists¹ works and ideas. Working with a variety of materials
> including
