Interpretation and Impact:
Museums and Universities in Collaboration
Thursday 27th September 2012
Thackray Museum, Leeds
11.00am – 4.00pm
For the past year, the Thackray Museum has benefited from the support of an AHRC Knowledge Transfer Fellow from the University of Leeds. This meeting is an opportunity to find out more about:
how this kind of partnership can be forged;
what the benefits and pitfalls can be;
the research outcomes and public resources produced;
case studies of other museum-university collaborations;
The meeting offers museum and university staff the opportunity to discuss the challenges, processes and benefits of such collaborations. How can museums and universities make the most of collaboration to interpret collections for our audiences and achieve public impact?
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
