Dear all,
we're delighted to announce that our bid to the AHRC research networks scheme
has been successful. Over the next two years we'll have funding to develop
and extend the network with particular focus on connecting walkers
internationally.
In the first instance we have some money available to help cover costs for
travel to the final weekend of the Sideways festival of walking in Belgium
this September (http://www.sideways2012.be/). We have 4 bursaries available
of up to £200, which can be put towards partial costs if participants are
able to cover the difference. We may be able to extend this to a 5th bursary
if costs come in below the £200 mark.
You must be available to travel to Zutendaal, Belgium to participate in the
final three days of the festival:
Friday 14th 'walkie-talkie too' an open space workshop (bring your own
walking ideas and experiments to share)
Saturday 15th 'moving on' a symposium
(http://www.tragewegen.be/nl/symposia-en/speakers)
Sunday 16th mobile art projects and walks
(http://www.tragewegen.be/nl/zutendaal-september-15-16).
Accommodation for four nights (Thursday 13th to Monday 17th) in shared
holiday cabin-style rooms is included.
These bursaries will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis, all we
ask is that recipients undertake to document an aspect of the festival (an
artwork, event, paper, discussion etc.) for the network's website.
Please contact Clare Qualmann ([log in to unmask]) to apply.
Please feel free to forward this email on to other contacts who might be
interested.
We'll send out more information about the research project as it develops.
all best wishes,
Clare and Mark
