Dear SPM community,
I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out the correct way to model
an experiment with stimuli of varying durations (from 0.3 to 4.0 s).
It was suggested to me to use the mini-block design as the events are
too long in duration, and the durations are not constant. On the
other hand, I found a paper by Mecheli et al. NeuroImage 2003 that
seems to state that event-related modeling is even more sensitive than
epoch designs even for stimulus durations longer than those in my
experiment. I tried both methods and obtained completely opposite
results. Does this mean that the event-related design would be wrong
in this case?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Best,
James
