Equality and Human Right Impact Assessment – Invitations to Tender

The Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC) and Equality and Human Rights Commission Scotland (EHRC) consider that equality and human rights impact assessments (EQHRIAs) are an essential mechanism for enabling human rights and equality thinking to be embedded into the policies, practices, procedures and priorities of public bodies in Scotland.
SHRC and EHRC Scotland wish to support organisations to capitalise on the potential benefits of EQHRIA and have developed a project with the following objectives:
(1) to advance a better understanding of equality and human rights and how to achieve better equality and human rights outcomes in policy and practice;
(2) to develop, in partnership, practical support for best practice approaches to equality and human rights impact assessment.
The Commissions will be selecting 2 pilot partners, most likely to be local authority partners, to assist further develop best practice approach principles, embed the principles in practice in their respective organisations and evaluate and publish the results as an example to others.
The Commissions will undertake to provide the pilot partners with a specified number of days support to assist them align their practice with the best practice principles and are looking for a number of consultant/s to assist in the delivery of this project.
We are pleased to advertise the following 3 separate invitations to tender and invite applications by close of 10 August 2012:
