The Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Winchester is delighted to be hosting a conference on “Gender and Visual Representation”. This event will be held in the City of Winchester, United Kingdom, on Wednesday the 12th September 2012. Registration is now open.
The Conference aims to encourage and develop diverse understanding concerning the social category of gender and its relationship to visual representation. We will be showcasing some of the best work in the area occurring across the United Kingdom, and internationally, as well as to stimulating debate within and between disciplines. The event will feature empirical and theoretical papers from across the full spectrum of gender studies as well as those which critically engage and reflect upon research paradigms and methods. This includes papers that seek to address ‘real world’ issues, and in so doing, encourage and contribute toward broader feminist activism.
Please see www.winchester.ac.uk/CGS for further details concerning the Conference including the registration process, or email Rosemary Lobban at [log in to unmask]
