one of the more time taking tasks is simply choosing software. There is
so much of it for Linux, so to make a choice?
Audacity, for basic sound recording and editing
Ardour for more complex sound composition
Rosegarden for musical notation, midi, sequencer synth; need to get jack
sound server working (the hard part of Ubuntu)
Open Shot, for video editing, allows multiple tracks, stills, several
effects like fades, chroma key and links to Gimp (like photoshop) and
Blender, 3d render and animation. Also, there is a high end pro video
editor, if needed.
The linux file system makes it easy to organise several hundred separate
visual and sound files.
This is an impressive and powerful multimedia collection of software.
The words and images are still being collected in a variety of different
formats.
Rather a single voice, I was wondering if the internet could be used to
collect together a chorus like reading, by sending an MP3 and having
another voice record the vocals more or less in time using a simple
voice recorder which most computers have? The sending this recording of
their voice back?
