I can still watch a dvd of Rebel Without a Cause,,, That would a little
before my time and quite fascinating film tecchnology.
But I am still struggling to find what digital video can do beyond
1980-90s analog. But then we still had digital efects, chromakey and so
forth. Maybe it just a question of access, if you can use the high end
technology and have the aesthetic training. Still trying to convince
jack to work as a soundserver.
I got some more broadband so watched Derek Jarmin's music videos and up
to almost midnight watchng gay short films on youtube, so many but I got
to see most of them. Different sort of narrative being invented, very
interesting.
And video poems are all over the place, some very good. (It is said to
have been invented by a Canadian in the 80s).
