Maybe because it no longer has a patent and is cheap? It is used more
for CFIDS or CFS. It lets you sleep, which CFS prevents and hence makes
you sicker if you don't sleep. Also, it encourages the growth of new
neuron cells, encourages brain cell repair and actually does work as an
anti-depressant. (Except if you alcohol drink and as you may remember
from our pub run up and down Sydney's CBD... I am a little fond of this.
But it still works as a sedative and when not drinking cures the post
drinking depression.)
Biochemists have only just figured out why it works... to do with
seratonin things in the brain. Also, the other pills I take are
depressives, like narcotics and diazapam. I almost have a degree in
biochemistry through practical experience.
In a couple of months I might get pain patches... hope they work.
