Professor Stefan Timmermans (Professor of Sociology at UCLA, and medical sociology editor at the journal Social Science & Medicine) will be giving a seminar as part of his visit to Leicester in September. He has a fascinating body of work to his name (including papers on evidence-based medicine, standardization, the medical profession, ethnography, and the social consequences of new medical technologises) and so will be well-worth hearing speak. Title: “Saving Babies? The Social Consequences of Expanded Newborn Screening”
Date: Monday 3rd September 2012
Time: 4-5pm for presentation, followed by questions and discussion
