London Bay is in Orkney, where the placenames are about all Old Norse.
After I sent my previous suggestion I suspected a derivation from Old Norse "lundi" = "puffin" (a seabird)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puffin
as with Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel.
"Puffin Bay", but where does the "-on" part come from?
