Eighteenth-Century Fiction and the Journal of Canadian Studies selected to
Project MUSE Research Collection



University of Toronto Press Journals is pleased to announce that
Eighteenth-Century Fiction and the Journal of Canadian Studies have been
selected to the Project MUSE Basic Research Collection for 2013 – two of
only three 3 journals selected for the most recent additions.



Project MUSE Basic Research Collection

The Basic Research Collection is a more limited subset of the Premium
Collection than the Standard Collection. It is an interdisciplinary
collection designed for institutions acquiring extensively in the humanities
and social sciences. The Basic Research Collection is a fundamental
collection of interdisciplinary journals that grows modestly in size and
price from year to year. Titles added to this collection are chosen based on
a number of criteria, including the journal's presence in appropriate high
quality indexes, inclusion in archival collections, and current usage in

Eighteenth-Century Fiction (ECF) is an international, peer-reviewed
quarterly devoted to the critical and historical investigation of literature
and culture of the period 1660-1832. Since its foundation in 1988, ECF has
expanded its scope to reflect changes in the discipline, and now publishes a
variety of approaches on a wide range of relevant cultural materials.
Recognizing the fluid notions of fiction within the period, as well as the
growing body of interdisciplinary work by scholars in the field, the ECF
editors seek submissions that conceive of "fiction" in its broader sense and
expand the frameworks of critical, historical, and theoretical discussion.
While its languages of publication are English and French, the journal
publishes articles that cover all geographical territories.

Journal of Canadian Studies/Revue d'études canadiennes

The Journal of Canadian Studies/Revue d'études canadiennes was the first
scholarly journal of Canadian Studies. It continues to fill a distinct niche
among Canadian Studies journals, many of which are association journals, and
most of which serve both foreign contributors and foreign subscribers,
viewing Canada from the outside. Our journal publishes primarily (but not
exclusively) the work of Canadian scholars, disseminating their research to
both foreign and Canadian subscribers. Readers can turn to journals of
Canadian history, sociology, politics and literature for specific
disciplines' understandings of Canadian topics, to international Canadian
Studies journals for how others see us, and to the JCS/ REC for a wide range
of multi- disciplinary and interdisciplinary research being done in this
country.
