Hi Leah,
Thanks for this, looks great. I am especially interested, however, in your new book. I didn't know that you were writing this. Is it based on a funded research project? I'd love to hear more! Any chance I could review it? Maybe for Citizenship Studies?
Also, you must have had your baby by now. Did you have a boy or a girl? I had a little boy called Arthur. I've been back from maternity leave since the beginning of July. It's enjoyable re-engaging my intellectual brain and having other topics of conversations other than Arthur's sleeping/eating/pooing habits but I do miss him in the days.
I am currently finishing writing up my PhD and just desperate for a 'real' job with colleagues to speak to and an office to go to. If you hear of any jobs coming up do let me know!
Lucy

Subject: [BSA-RACE] Media and the Riots - New Report
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to take this opportunity to share some work I've done on the English riots of 2011.
'Media and the Riots: A Call for Action' is a report I wrote in collaboration with the Citizen Journalism Educational Trust and The Latest.com.
The report builds on the insights of the Media and the Riots conference held in London in November where young people, members of riot-affected communities and members of the public had the opportunity to come face to face with working journalists, media professionals and academics.
The report both critiques media coverage and processes and makes positive recommendations. Roy Greenslade has written the foreword to the report and discusses it in the Guardian:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/greenslade/2012/jul/31/london-riots-universityofleicester
The report is freely accessible online here (scroll down to the bottom of the article):

Please feel free to share this with colleagues, students and to circulate through your networks. I look forward to your feedback.
Best wishes,
Leah
