Position: Assistant Professor
The Department of History at Indiana University in Bloomington is
searching for a tenure-track assistant professor in the History of
Modern China, understood as post-1911. Applicants should hold the PhD
or anticipate its completion by the time of appointment and must
demonstrate an active and creative research program. All subfield
specializations are encouraged to apply, but we particularly encourage
applications from candidates who can teach courses which place China
in its global context. Teaching duties will include undergraduate
surveys and upper level lecture and seminar courses as well as
graduate training. We are looking for dynamic candidates interested
in contributing to and taking advantage of our many related units,
including the East Asian Languages and Cultures Department, East Asian
Studies Center, Central Eurasian Studies Department, and Pan-Asia
institute.
