We have another opportunity for an apprentice to join our team for 12 months.
Apprentice – Shropshire Archives and Records Management
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly team at Shropshire Archives and Records Management as part of an Apprenticeship Scheme.
You will work as part of a team delivering archives and records management services, including providing overall administrative and general support. Work with the Records Management service will include sorting backlogs of records in several locations around the county.
You will have a good general level of education including GCSE’s Grade ‘C’ or above in English and Maths. An ability to work to deadlines, and as a member of a team is essential. Good IT skills are required, and experience of using databases, and of photography, would be an advantage, as is an interest in Shropshire’s history. Working with records requires the ability to carry boxes and volumes, and sometimes you will be working in dirty and unheated surroundings.
In return you will be offered training, the opportunity to work with unique archives, and a positive working environment.
Please note that national rules for apprenticeship eligibility apply.
This post will suit non graduates wishing to improve their work experience in an interesting field, and secure nationally recognised qualificatons.
