NIHR RESEARCH METHODS FELLOWSHIP IN HEALTH INFORMATICS
£31,020 - £35, 939 pa
Applications are invited from highly-talented individuals for the post of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Research Methods Fellow in Health Informatics. The Fellowship will be based in the MRC North West Hub for Trials Methodology Research, Department of Biostatistics, and the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, at the University of Liverpool. The postholder will work closely with Professor Iain Buchan’s team at the Northwest Institute for Bio-Health Informatics, University of Manchester and the Clinical Trials Research Centre, University of Liverpool. The post is available for two years from 1st October 2012. The fellowship will provide an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake structured methodology training and gain research experience in health informatics within a supportive and vibrant research environment. The fellowship will provide a 2-year salaried position with an opportunity to;
* Undertake generic training in health-related informatics and research methods with specific focus on the design and analysis of clinical trials
* Undertake a research project in the area of health informatics applied to clinical trials
* Contribute to the health informatics review process of the Clinical Trials Research Centre
* Gain experience of supervising a 2-month NIHR Research Methods Internship
* Be encouraged to further his/her research through a PhD and be supported to apply for a NIHR Doctoral Training Fellowship in the final year
* Gain the skills and experience necessary for a career as an applied health informatician working in medical research.
