We are currently looking for a Statistical Director to join our growing team of Statisticians at MMR, to be based in either our Wallingford or London office. MMR are a full service ad hoc international research agency specialising in consumer and sensory market research in food, drink and other FMCG and retail sectors, with offices in the UK, US, Singapore and China.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of five years' experience of working in a market research environment, with particular emphasis on the application of conjoint analysis in pricing research and market modelling. Whilst we're flexible for the right candidate, it is likely that the successful person will be at the equivalent of either Associate Director or Research Director level. They will be comfortable dealing direct with end clients at the pitch and design stages, and able to demonstrate the ability to present results clearly, both to the research team and clients using non-technical language.
This is an exciting opportunity, as the individual will be responsible for driving the development and application of conjoint analysis (in a wide sense) within the company, with primary responsibilities for the design and analysis of these studies, as well as developing the skill set of the wider statistics and research team and helping the marketing team to create an exciting, differentiated proposition that fits against both client needs and MMRs positioning.
Core Requirements:
* 2:1 or higher in a degree with a high level of statistical content
* A minimum of 5 years' experience of working in market research, ideally with FMCG clients (although the latter part is not essential)
* A high level of experience in conducting and analysing conjoint studies for NPD, pricing research and market modelling, ideally using Sawtooth software. Methods should include CBC, ACA, ACBC and MBC.
* An aptitude for developing new methods, both in terms of longer term development projects, but also on-the-job to meet client demands
Advantageous:
* Experience of programming in SAS (although not 100% necessary)
* Ability to produce client interfaces for conjoint applications - possibly using VBA programming
* A core knowledge of other statistical methods, including segmentation techniques, statistical modelling and multivariate statistics.
* It would be an advantage if the candidate had experience of managing a team and developing people - and enjoyed this aspect of their role
