As part of a wider European project you carry out full-time research on an EU funded systems biology project: “Timet: Linking circadian regulation to metabolism in plants”. The objective of the subproject led by Glasgow University is to reconstruct circadian gene and protein regulatory networks by postgenomic data integration. To this end, we will apply and further advance leading-edge methods from computational statistics and machine learning to parameter inference and model selection in complex systems.
With knowledge of Bayesian statistics, statistical bioinformatics and computation using Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulation, proficiency in at least one programming language and interest in working at the interface of statistics, computing science and molecular biology you will undertake International Level Research with partner institutions to meet the projects goals.
