Hi,
We now have an FTS3 test endpoint at RAL:
https://lcgfts-dev.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:8443
This is accessible from outside RAL. The LHC, ops, and dteam VOs are supported. Currently it just has an "out-of-the-box" configuration.
The normal glite-transfer-submit and glite-transfer-status commands work, but to try session re-use, for example, you need to use the new fts3-transfer-submit command (with the -r option).
There's a lightweight monitoring system available for FTS3 (similar to FTSmonitor) which I'll try to setup soon.
Regards,
Andrew.

Thanks for raising this.
I was actually going to ask if it would have session reuse which is very welcome for small files so good to see it highlighted. When it says used only for gsiftp->gsiftp transfers. Do you know if it means not for transfers that use srm (ie only for those that use pure gridftp)?
If it means the later should we test how / if that works with some DPM sites as well as the reuse itself.
I volunteer ECDF - but obviously would prefer to test in a way that doesn't break anything and you probably want bigger sites too.

Dear All,
FTS 3 prototype 1 has been installed by IT-PES and is ready to be tested. Please mind only functional tests should be executed for now, various optimizations for stress-testing and performance will come with prototype 2.
*General information:
-Endpoint: https://fts3-pilot.cern.ch:8443
-MyProxy is not supported, proxy auto-delegation as in FTS 2
-CLI: FTS 2 CLI tools (glite-transfer-submit / glite-transfer-status / glite-transfer-list) can be used in FTS 3
-FTS 3 new CLI: new features in transfer submission (session reuse for gsiftp-gsiftp transfers only)
-FTS 3 currently accepts transfer requests only from the vos: atlas, lhcb, cms, dteam
-We have migrated FTS 2 CHANNEL configuration to FTS 3 JSON-formatted, SE-centric configuration in order to be able to compare the efficiency
*FTS 3 prototype 1 supported functionality:
-zero configuration, FTS 3 works out of the box with good defaults
-gsiftp-gsiftp session reuse for many small file transfers in a given job (supported only with FTS 3 CLI)
-FTS 2 backward compatible CLI tools (glite-transfer-submit / glite-transfer-status / glite-transfer-list)
-new FTS 3 cli with more features (gridftp control and data channel reuse)
-SE-centric, JSON-formatted family of FTS 3 configuration CLI tools
-SE-centric scheduling and configuration
-srm/gsiftp support for now
*FTS 3 prototype 1 general information:
*FTS 3 prototype 1 pilot SE configuration: We have managed to migrate FTS 2 Pilot channel configuration to FTS 3 SE-centric configuration. All SEs are now set with the equivalent number of tcp streams, timeouts, etc.
*gridftp session reuse: To be used only for gsiftp->gsiftp transfers. Optimal for many small file transfers due to the fact that the connection to src/dest gridftp server is reused sequentially among files in a given job.
* FTS 3 prototype 2 expected functionality:
-http/xroot support
-multiple db backend support
-auto-tuned transfers based on historical data and network characteristics
-support a list of possible source files with failover if the first is inaccessible
-incorporate staging files phase in FTS 3 state machine
