It is nice to see that Republican vice-presidential candidates are
flexible enough to embrace opposite views. In 2008, Sarah Palin damned
the NHS for its rationing "death-squads". In 2012, Paul Ryan argues
that its free healthcare creates pressure for ever more public
spending (see The Times, "Romney's new No.2 savages the NHS", August
14)
Ryan's new boss Mitt Romney is of course the former Massachusetts
Governor who oversaw what some call a prototype for Obama's ACA.
So with such free-thinky flip-flopping in the GOP, is there hope yet
for bipartisanship in US health policy (joke)
