Hi Remy
This is a question for the xerte technical list - http://lists.nottingham.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/xerte
It might be worth waiting a few weeks for the release of Toolkits 1.8 which has fair bit of added functionality.

Subject: Upgrading xerte toolkits
Hi,
Could anyone give me (or point me to) a step by step instruction on how to upgrade the above on a Linux web server please? I understand that's easier than a clean install but I can't find instructions for how to do this.
Regards,
Remy
