Dear All
I would like to draw to your attention a new book on children and young people’s participation in research.
Involving Children and Young People in Health and Social Care Research
Edited by Jennie Fleming and Thilo Boeck
We are very proud that this book does not only bring together a variety of experienced researchers, from a wide range of backgrounds in health and social care but also has two chapters written by young people.
Divided into five parts, this practical book begins by considering what research with young people is and why we should do it, before leading the reader into how to undertake it. The book then provides practical examples of action and finishes with reflections about the whole process.
Committed to partnership and participation throughout the entire process of the active involvement of children and young people in health and social care research, this text provides invaluable insights and is a resource for all those conducting research in and with children and young people.
This book will be out as a paperback in May 2013 but in the meantime you might want your library to purchase a copy.

Subject: Social Policy Digest - April 2012 update
Dear all
Social Policy Digest - April 2012 update
The Social Policy Digest is an online resource tracking the latest developments across the whole range of UK and pan-European social policy. The Digest is published by Cambridge University Press on behalf of the Social Policy Association. It used to be published as part of the Journal of Social Policy and is still linked to it.
The April 2012 update has now been added to the Digest website, allowing items to be browsed within subject/topic pages and located using the search engine.
New items since the beginning of May 2012 are posted on the continuous 'Latest News' listing on the Digest homepage, which is updated on a near-daily basis.
Starting in December 2010, the Digest has an entirely new section dealing with pan-European social policy issues.
The Digest is a freely accessible resource - simply go to: http://journals.cambridge.org/spd/action/home. The archive of material, dating back to 2002, now contains over 34,000 items.
For automatic updates, just add one of the following links to your feed reader or aggregator: RSS feed or Atom feed.
Digest updates are now also available via Facebook and Twitter
Best wishes
