Hi all,
I have been asked a question by a colleague on how long to keep records giving details of children taking part in performances. The Children (Performances) Regulations 1968 gives the following:
"Records to be kept by the holder of a licence under section 39(5) of the Act
5. The holder of a licence shall keep the records specified in Schedule 3 to these Regulations, and shall retain them for six months after the performance or last performance to which the licence relates."
Six months following the performance seemed too short a retention period and a quick google search confirmed that other Local Authorities keep this information for Date of birth plus 25 years / End of compulsory school age plus 6 years. If your organisation keeps these sort of records, how long do you keep them for and why?
Any advice/information on or off list you can provide would be most gratefully received.
Regards,
Lizi
