Well, it has become too much. I am being refused appropriate medical
treatment because I am not married to a woman.
My neighbors on the marina, seeing I was upset invited me in for a drink
and wanted to see my letter of complaint to the medical service. Before
I gave it to them to read I said you should know I am gay. They shrugged
this off; they already knew that. So by tomorrow the entire marina will
know I am gay.
Now, I still need to find a gay friendly doctor and not some homophobe
that continues to make me sick. The specialist I saw on Monday asked as
if it were no big deal. How happy that made me; until I had to go back
to the homophobe.
I came out 40 years ago now, at aged 16. I am now 56. I have been a gay
activist since I was 18. Maybe a little bit has changed. Will I go to my
grave still hoping for at least equal rights. Perhaps gay liberation is
too much to hope for?
Maybe, on monday, I can find a gay friendly doctor?
