Her book "Quiet" is worth a read--I have not watched the TED talk. Introverts go to the woods or other quiet places to recover from a stressful week--not a new contribution in that Rachel Kaplan and spouse have posited "nature restoration theory". The new contribution is that extroverts head to Happy Hour at a bar to be around lots of people and make small talk. There are two restoration strategies that might breakout by introvert/extrovert.
Difference between climbing the mountain to see, vs. climbing the mountain to been seen.
The hiker dressed in subtle colored Khakis, vs the mountain biker in loud colors covered in logos--might help explain conflict.
She calls attention to a few studies that could be used to test for differences. For instance introverts become bothered by background noise on average at 55 db, extroverts at 75 db.
