Hi Rachel,
All of the CC licenses require that distribution of exact copies of a work must be under the same license the work was found under.
However, the ShareAlike term dictates that additionally any adaptations or derivative works must also be released under the same license, which isn't the case with all CC licenses.
There is no problem with you redistributing a CC-licensed work via a private system, such as Blackboard, since the recipients of the work via that system can still use the work freely under the terms of the CC license. It's only a problem if you add some measures to a work which would restrict the recipients' ability to use the work as allowed by the original license.
Best,
Nathan

Our academics would like to make material with the appropriate CC licensing available to students but all resources are usually delivered via Blackboard where access is restricted by username and p/word. Is this allowed?
