Dawn,
Doesn't appear that you had many responses to this (perhaps due to the first response from Sharon), and I'm sure you've already actioned, but the key questions you need to ask must reflect what your Pension rules dictate, e.g. if your pension criteria state 'must be incapable of work in role or similar role until normal retirement age', your question should ask for opinion on this.
Normal retirement age will reflect what age your pension scheme pays out at, given that default retirement age has been abolished.
It is generally unusual (in my experience) to obtain opinion from a GP, normally such questions would be asked of a treating specialist - but you didn't highlight any diagnosis.
Matt

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] LETTER TO GP RE ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT
Hi All,
Just a quick question. I am writing to GP re support evidence for the insurance company for a man here who is looking at ill health retirement. No somthing I have done before...my employees either RTW or die.
So the question is I am asking same old questions as I would normally ask...yes...any additional ones I need to throw in or any guidlines I need to follow. He is due to retire in Feb next year anyway so it will only be 3 months early!.
thanks as always Dawn
