Laboratory for Atmospheric Spectroscopy and Applications
A post-doctoral position (PDF) is available from 1 September 2012 in
the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto. This position
is in the field of millimeter wave radiometry for Arctic atmospheric
remote sounding and is available for up to two years. The PDF will be

stratospheric trace gases in the Canadian high Arctic. The position is
based in Toronto, Canada and will be supervised by Prof. Kaley Walker.
This position will likely involve travel and field work. Salary is
commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant area of chemical
physics or physical chemistry (such as molecular spectroscopy) and must
have excellent written and oral communication skills. Preference will
be given to candidates with expertise in LabVIEW and experience in
computer interfacing and instrument development. Experience with
microwave and millimeter wave technology, spectroscopic techniques or
instrument construction and an interest in atmospheric science will also
be an advantage. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work
independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Applicants should send a cv, application letter and the names of at
