Research Associate/Senior Research Associate
See http://www.jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/557/
We are offering an opportunity for a motivated social scientist to join
the rapidly expanding Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research. The
post-holder will work with a multi-disciplinary team at the University
of Cambridge and at RAND Europe and in the wider Cambridge Biomedical
Campus. They will have a PhD in sociology or a related subject and
excellent qualitative research skills.
This post is funded by the Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre as part
of a theme on Evaluation and Implementation. The theme aims to
accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into benefits for
individual and population health and will develop research in three key
areas:
1) Development of clinical information systems; 2) Supporting the
translation of biomedical advances into patient care; 3) Understanding
the ethical, legal, social and health policy issues arising from
experimental advances.
This post contributes mainly to the second of these three areas. There
is no fixed research programme though some support will be expected for
the work of the Addenbrooke's Clinical Trials Unit. The post-holder will
therefore have the opportunity to develop his/her own programme of work
under the guidance of Professor Martin Roland.
The post would be based on the University Forvie Site in the Institute
of Public Health.
The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are
eligible to live and work in the UK.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 August 2016
in the first instance.
Further Particulars can be accessed at www.phpc.cam.ac.uk/jobs
