Subject: SV: How big is your digital team?
Hi,
at the Swedish museum Nordiska museet (national museum for cultural
history) there are people from all over the organization working with
digital communication:
Marketing department: 1 webmaster (also doing Facebook communication),
1 marketeer (working partly with social media)
New media department: 3 producers/planners/staff support, social media
etc, plus 1 head of department doing strategic planning, etc.
IT-department: 1 working especially w technical support for Wordpress
blogs, advice for technical solutions in the exhibits etc.
Library: 4 librarians blogging
Archive: 2 image archivists providing images, archivists on their way
to start blogging/Facebooking, etc
Curators: Starting to write for Wikipedia
Our outdoor museum department: 4 staff Facebooking
Digital is a vital part of any organisation. For a larger national
cultural heritage organisation there's just no way you can manage a
serious online presence with one person.
Regards
Kajsa Hartig

Hi All
I am doing a bit of research for a museum which is under threat of
it's digital team being cut from three to one.
What shape and size is your digital team, ideally for a larger
national organisation, this can include anyone related to delivering
online communication, so you might also include a marketing person
swell as more technical people.
Any help might help us persuade management that this decision might
put them back in the dark ages…
Thanks
Jim
