Good morning everyone,
Myself and a colleague are currently working on recommendations for new OPAC terminals in our library, giving us the opportunity to get new hardware as well as changing the underlying functionality of the system. We would therefore be very interested in hearing anyone else's experiences of similar projects and would be most interested to learn about 3 key areas:
· Accessibility of machines, browsers and surrounding equipment. Any recommendations or things to avoid?
· Functionality and limitations imposed on OPAC machines. Are they restricted to just the Library catalogue, or can they access the web?
· How do you restrict long stays on these dedicated terminals?
I will summarise points for the list in case anyone else is interested.
Many Thanks
Kirsty
