Dear Bernie
In the July Issue of Insights the Editors Introduction and the report of the conference by the sponsored students are open access. In addition, the following articles are open;
An article by Martin Paul Eve called 'Tear it down, build it up: the Research Output Team, or the library-as-publisher'; one by Charles Oppenheim on copyright; an assessment of E-resource knowledge bases and link resolvers by Marshall Breeding; a snapshot of attitudes towards open access monograph publishing in the humanities and social sciences by Ellen Collins and Caren Milloy; and Torsten Reimer tackles the key issue of text mining, copyright and the benefits and barriers to innovation.
All excellent and I recommend them.
Kind regards
Lorraine

Yes, I'm afraid it is not possible to distinguish between what is OA for all
and what is accessible because you have IP (or username/password) access.
The little green square is used for both. The majority of the content is not
OA, but it's true we have made more than usual OA this time so that more
people can access certain articles.

Ally
I can't distinguish which things are open as we have IP access.
Can you let me know as I'll promote them. I thought it was more than two
things this time?

The technical problem with accessing the latest issue of 'Insights: the UKSG
journal' now seems to have been resolved so please do try again! Even if
you are not a member of UKSG and do not hold a subscription to 'Insights',
you will still be able to access some of the content as certain articles,
the Editorial and the Key Issue (on text mining, copyright and the benefits
and barriers to innovation) are OA. (Content with a green square alongside
is OA). To access:

We have a wonderful new issue of Insights waiting for you to see - and you
may have noticed the automated alert went out over the weekend - but we are
currently experiencing some temporary technical problems and so
unfortunately the articles are not yet accessible. MetaPress have assured
us that they are looking into this and will fix the problem as soon as
possible. Apologies if you have already tried accessing the July issue.
Kind regards, and thanks for your patience,
Ally
