I've decided not to get into the mine is better than yours scenario.
Suffice to say that people either like Apple gear or they do not. If
others like Android then so be it. I do not like the lock in either,
but it is a price that I pay (although I do jailbreak). I do like the
Apple hardware, and I do not think the apps available for IOS etc will
not be surpassed by Android. There are quite a number I cannot do
without. Coming back to the hardware I have a Macbook Pro - 2 years
old that is still like new. had this been a Windows machine it would
be well and truly nackered. Same goes for my iMac that I bought last
year. My first generation iPad is still going very strong, and will be
replaced shortly because I know that future IOS will not go on this.
The only problem is that I have no real excuse to upgrade my
laptop/desktop.
I know that they make their own market by slow improvement, but don't
all manufacturers?? I am happy with Apple kit and I am glad that
others are happy with Android. Not so many moons ago I can remember
the MS faction 'warring with the Apple mob.
Best wishes
