Louisiana State University, Department of Geology and Geophysics has an
opening for a Field Camp Director at the position of Assistant
Professor of Professional Practice. This position allows for advancement
through the ranks. See below for specifics.
LSU has a permanent field camp, one of the oldest continually operating
camps in the US, near Colorado Springs, CO. During the academic year,
the candidate will teach and coordinate introductory labs.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
(Field Camp Director and Instructor)
Department of Geology and Geophysics at Louisiana State University
The department of Geology and Geophysics is currently accepting
applications for the Field Camp Director and Instructor. During the
academic year, the position is designed to be 50% teaching, 25%
coordinating content and supervising introductory laboratory courses,
and 25% field camp director duties. During the summer, the position is
100% Field Camp Director.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Geology or a related field. An offer
of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background
