Chris,
Thanks for posting this. It would be excellent to coordinate feedback to Eprints via the Jiscmail list.
Control over permissions is a concern for us too. The prospect of not only manually giving out permissions but also manually altering permissions as REF rumbles on is a little daunting.
We would also like the ability to restrict a staff member entered for the REF from seeing the REF plugin at all.
The scenario might go something like: Academic A selects their research in REF2014 plugin > Academic A adds info against each output (including self ratings) > Academic A has permissions to REF plugin removed > Academic B (who is a UoA Coordinator) edits selections and info (including self ratings).
Currently you can't do this, for although you can remove permissions from Academic A seeing the plugin whilst keeping Academic A in the REF2 report (by taking away the UoA field from a user profile), doing this also prevents Academic B editing the selections of Academic A.
Has anyone heard word from Eprints with regards to permissions being granted by an automated or batch process?
