Dear Colleagues,
My apologies for any cross-posting. Please find attached an invitation to the International Conference on Installation Effects in Geotechnical Engineering, to be held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 24-27 March 2013.
The conference is organised by the EC/FP7 funded Industry-Academia Pathways and Partnerships project GEO-INSTALL, which is partnership of 4 universities and 4 companies working together for over 3 years looking at new ways for Modelling Installation Effects in Geotechnical Engineering (see geo-install.ac.uk for details on the project).
We would like to invite you and your co-workers to participate in the conference, the aim of which is to provide an international forum for sharing the latest developments in monitoring, analysing and managing installation effects in geotechnical engineering. Active discussion on related topics will be facilitated through invited keynote lectures, which will set the scene for the main theme of the conference. Ample time is dedicated for presentations of accepted papers and discussion, with no parallel sessions, to ensure active engagement. In addition, the partners of GEO-INSTALL will present selected highlights of their joint research programme, which has been achieved through intense collaboration between industry and academia. Special discounted rates will apply to full-time PhD students to facilitate the participation of young researchers.
We would be delighted if you are able to participate in the workshop and invite you to submit a paper abstract by the submission deadline of 15 August 2012 (dead-line has been now extended from July 15). The dead-line for papers is 1 November 2012.
The conference will he held in De Doelen, a fantastic concert and conference centre in the centre of Rotterdam, which is an exciting and vibrant city close to the beautiful Dutch towns of Delft, Utrecht and Leiden. Rotterdam is only 1 hour by train from Amsterdam. We hope that you will be able to join us and that you may also have time to see some of the sights of the Netherlands.
We would be grateful if you could forward this invitation to any co-workers who may be interested.
Best regards,
Minna
