At Transport for London Corporate Archives we provide our volunteers with 'Valuing Our Volunteers' sessions during which we highlight the work that they are all doing, update them on the work of the department, provide them with the opportunity to all mix together, etc. Part of the session is always 1-1.5hrs on a subject that they have chosen. For our next session on Tuesday 25th September, they have suggested preservation and conservation as a topic they would like to her more about.
I was therefore wondering if there were any London/South/South East based conservators who would be willing to give up some of their time to come and talk to our vounteers about their job and about basic preservation. The session will be held at TfL central offices near St. James's Park and we usually start around 10.30am but would of course be flexible depending on availability. Unfortunately we are unable to provide any payment, but we would be happy to provide lunch and also to reimburse reasonable travel expenses.
If anybody thinks they can help I would be most grateful to hear from you. I can be reached on 020 7126 1265, or on email at [log in to unmask]
