For those who are interested in surveillance, culture & games: Ubisoft
has just presented its latest title at the E3 (Electronic Entertainment
Expo) 2012. In "Watch Dogs" a whole city is under the command of a
"Central Operating System".
I'll quote Wikipedia:
"The main gameplay mechanic of Watch Dogs is the use of hacking and
surveillance — the gameplay demo presented during Ubisoft's press
conference showed that the player can manipulate and disrupt electronic
devices (such as cameras and traffic lights), jam communications, and
tap telephone conversations in order to collect information on their
target."
Trailers and Gameplay can be found at YouTube &c.
Best,
Dietmar
