I am running SPM 8 using a virtual linux machin (NX client) on a Windows XP computer.
I have built my model and estimated it at the first level for one subject and ran an initial contrast to investigate motor response-related brain activity as a control manipulation. The activity pattern seemed correct with highly significant activity in the primary motor cortex.
However, when I entered a new contrast on this SPM.mat file to look at a different contrast of interest, the parametric map displayed in the results for the new contrast appears unchanged from the initial motor response contrast image (intensity at a particular voxel is the same for both contrasts, suggesting the second contrast did not get updated from the previous one).
Can someone explain what is happening here? Do you need to create a separate directory for an SPM.mat file for each contrast? This seems unnecessary to me but I honestly have no idea why two different contrast vectors are producing the same parametric map when I display them in the results section in SPM.
Thanks,
Chris Smith
