MA CRIMINAL AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
University of Wales, Newport
This innovative new MA course offers a unique insight into the two closely related areas of Social and Criminal justice. In public discourse the term ‘Justice’ is used in two main ways. One is Social Justice, in the
general sense of giving people the opportunities and resources to which they are entitled. The other is Criminal Justice which specifically concerns crime, and society’s responses to it through the criminal justice system. The MA Criminal and Social Justice course combines attention to both, stressing the overlaps between them in
both theory and practice. The course provides opportunities for further research in criminology or social and political theory and for employment and career progression in a wide range of areas across the public, private and
voluntary sectors.
