Please come along to the following participatory event if you are in the Durham/Newcastle/North East area on Thurs 28th June!
Posted on behalf of James Searle
Dear All,
I’m writing to inform you of the following participatory event being held in the department on Thursday 28 June between 12.30 and 2.30pm in Room W007:
Red Kite Sensations: a participatory/art workshop led by Class FWD at High Spen Primary School, Gateshead
The children, along with a few parents, myself and school teaching staff, will be sharing experiences from a year-long project associated with my PhD research exploring sensory relationships through the Red Kite birds of prey that were recently re-introduced to the Derwent Valley, Gateshead. This is an informal opportunity for members of the department to join the children in practical activities and view a small selection of work and images from the project.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DROP IN AT ANY POINT DURING THE WORKSHOP to look around and/or join in one or more of the activities taking place. These are likely to include: kite-making, building nests, sensory games and mapping.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we will look forward to seeing some of you on 28 June. Please forward to colleagues in other departments who may also be interested in attending.
If you can offer help or have further questions please contact: [log in to unmask]
Best wishes
James Searle,
PhD candidate
